Keeping Detroit Alive

S.A.Y. Detroit was a recipient of a grant from The Dr. Phil Foundation. Founded in 2006 by author and columnist Mitch Albom, its mission is to raise and distribute money to shelters in Detroit, MI to help improve the lives of those in need.

"It is the spirit of the people who live in Detroit who are trying to keep Detroit alive that really moves me," Dr. Phil said.

The funds from The Dr. Phil Foundation will provide critically needed support to a recently opened 24-hour, seven-day-a-week health clinic operated by the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries. The clinic will provide basic medical and pediatric care to children and their mothers as well as OB/GYN services, all at no cost to the patient.
