Dreams Become Reality

After Tyerra's father died, her mother was diagnosed as bipolar and schizophrenic. At 19, she took her three younger siblings under her wing to make sure they stayed out of foster care. With the help of generous donations, Dr. Phil provided her with a car, a college scholarship and money to pay her bills.

Tyerra appeared on the episode "Against All Odds," and shared her update. "I graduated from school at the top of my class, and as a result of that, I was awarded another full scholarship to go back to school to become a licensed vocational nurse," she said with tears in her eyes.

On behalf of The Dr. Phil Foundation, Aflac gave Tyerra an additional $15,000 so she can finish her education and have money to support her family.
